Twins 5, Yankees 1

Minnesota's Scott Baker stared down the loaded New York lineup and didn't flinch.

Baker pitched seven strong innings in his first start against the Yankees, leading the Twins to a 5-1 victory on Friday that extended their winning streak to four.

"Regardless of who I'm facing, if I'm going to be nervous it's not going to help the situation," said Baker (1-1), who gave up one run, three hits and one walk while striking out four and consistently getting ahead in the count.
